Kelly Clarkson’s summer tour has been postponed before it even started. Clarkson fired her management earlier this week, and with ticket sales for the tour not being what they should have been, her reps are looking to re-book another tour at smaller venues. Ouch. If an artist of Clarkson’s magnitude is having trouble moving tickets, it just goes to show you how difficult it is to compete for anyone’s entertainment dollar these days. Her new album, My December, is due out on June 26, so don’t expect it to take long for Clarkson’s peeps to have new tour dates in place.

Australian rockers Silverchair hasn’t toured the US in almost ten years, but their latest album, Young Modern, has gone double platinum Down Under, prompting a return here. The tour kicks off in San Diego on July 13 and runs through August 5 in Minneapolis.

Bon Jovi is having special guests perform with them on their MTV Unplugged series, and the first official guest announced is the All-American Rejects. Nick Wheeler of All-American Rejects had this to say about the event: “Holy Crap!”

Justin Timberlake will be joined by rock band Good Charlotte this summer for an arena tour beginning August 6 in Memphis and running through September 17 in Los Angeles. Good Charlotte is going out in support of their new album, Good Morning Revival.

Guerilla Union’s Rock The Bells North American Tour will kick off July 26 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. As was announced recently, the shows will be headlined by Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Rage Against the Machine, and will be joined by Cypress Hill, UGK, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, David Banner, Immortal Technique, and Jedi Mind Tricks. Former “American Idol” finalist Bo Bice has cancelled the final three dates on his acoustic tour (Tucson, Odessa, and Dallas) to instead hurry back into the studio to finish his second album. Bice’s new record is due for release in mid-September.

Two exciting young artists, Joss Stone and James Morrison, will head out on tour together this summer, beginning August 27 in Los Angeles and running through September 29 in Kansas City.

The All-American Rejects will play the Hard Rock Live in Orlando on September 15 as part of the Ambassadors of Rock Tour, a private show that fans can enter a sweepstakes to win tickets for. Check out www.hardrock.com for details.

Snow Patrol will tour Australia for the first time ever in September, beginning September 7 in Sydney and running for seven dates. Supporting the band will be Los Angeles indie rockers The Silversun Pickups and former Snow Patrol member Iain Archer, who is now a solo artist.

Blue October continues to tear up the road, and plans to do so again this fall with Yellowcard and Shiny Toy Guns. The tour begins September 20 in Atlanta and runs through November 10 in Orlando and are shown below with Yellowcard’s dates. And as for Yellowcard, the band’s new album, Paper Walls, hits streets on July 17. They will play a fee show to launch the NHL Entry Draft in Columbus, Ohio on June 22, and then will take part in the Vans Warped Tour beginning June 29. Well, what do you know? The Police kicked off their reunion tour in Vancouver last Monday, and are still together. Among others spotted in the audience were Eddie Vedder and Penelope Cruz.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were slated to play the US portion of Live Earth until it was moved from Washington DC to New York City. Instead, the couple will play a Soul2Soul tour date in DC on July 7.

The Allman Brothers are teaming up with the Dave Matthews Band for a benefit show on September 8 at the Meadow at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. The show is to benefit the enhancement and preservation of the park, and tickets will go on sale June 9 through Ticketmaster.

Ryan Adams & The Cardinals are releasing a new album, Easy Tiger, on June 26 and hitting the road for a short tour beginning June 18 in Minneapolis. Here are the confirmed dates Continue reading »

It’s a nineties rock party at minor league baseball stadiums this summer, as Counting Crows, Live and Collective Soul will all tour together. Third Eye Blind will also join them on some of the dates. The tour begins July 22 in Wilmington, Delaware and runs through September 2 in Fargo. For more information, visit www.countingcrows.com.

The self-proclaimed world’s largest music festival is Milwaukee’s Summerfest. At 11 days long and with a ton of A-list talent, it’s hard to argue with that proclamation. Some of the confirmed acts are Wolfmother, O.A.R., John Mayer, Los Lonely Boys, Ben Folds, Peter Frampton, B.B. King, The Fray, Goo Goo Dolls, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, INXS, Weird Al Yankovic, Gym Class Heroes, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, Silversun Pickups, Tool and Blue October. Whew. 311 is working on a new record and plan to return to the studio to record it in the fall. Meanwhile, front man Nick Hexum is talking about testing out some of that new material while the band tours with Matisyahu this summer beginning June 21.

The inaugural Big State Festival will take place October 13 and 14 at the Texas World Speedway in Bryan-College Station. Headlined by Tim McGraw, other acts so far include The Wreckers and Los Lonely Boys. Tickets go on sale June 5 at www.bigstatefestival.com

More than 50 bands will play the second annual Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal on September 8. Among confirmed acts are Smashing Pumpkins, Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, Interpol, and Damien Rice with more to be announced later.

Crooner Michael Buble released his new album at the start of the month, and will be starting his tour in support of it on July 12. Plans are also in place for Buble to tour Europe in October.

Erasure is joining Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry and The Dresden Dolls on the “True Colors” tour next month, but after that will be headlining a tour of their own that starts July 6 in Tampa. Tour dates are as follows:
