Justin finds writing songs “too slow” a process

Like anyone should be surprised. Justin Timberlake claims songwriting takes too long! Something to do with it not fitting in to his “busy lifestyle” or whatnot. But really, after coming out of N Sync, where you just gotta stand around and look good, why waste time on developing a real talent? Oh wait, I forget, he can dance and sing like Michael Jackson. So could Corey Feldman (at least on the dancing part), and we all know what happened to Corey, right? Feldman could kick Timberlake’s ass any day. Just give him some coke and a smile.

Lil’ Kim gets her own show

You need more reality, don’tcha? No? Too bad, because Lil’ Kim has a new show on BET called Countdown To Lockdown. Focusing on Kim’s last two weeks of freedom before being incarcerated. “We take an unblinking look at her life and her choices, and the consequences of those choices,” says BET President of Entertainment Reginald Hudlin. Gee, now if I only cared. Someone’s gonna be glued to the set in tears, though. Stop the world, I’m getting off.

Copeland not done with The Police

Stewart Copeland has always been the most vocal about getting The police back together. It’ll probably never happen as a regular working band concept again, but in the meantime Copeland is releasing his own tour documentary, Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out. It was shot during the band’s gigging for Zenyatta Mondatta, but if you’re going to be looking for any “classic Police fighting,” you’ll be disappointed. According to Copeland, “This movie showed me — and I hope it shows the world — that it’s a myth. This thing about the Police fighting all the time is just not true. We did argue — but any band that is a decent band, that has any kind of vitality, has creative tensions.”

Hello, he’s Johnny Cash…

…and he’s got a CD coming out in May. And, man, is it gonna be sweet. Personal File, which will be a 2-disc set, will consist of material which was recorded in July of 1973. It’s a predecessor of sorts to the recordings Cash did with Rubin during the winter of his life, given that it consists of sparse, acoustic recordings that are mostly just Johnny…but the difference is that he was in full voice in ’73. Count me in from the minute Best Buy opens its doors that Tuesday.

Scott Stapp sued for sex tape

Poor Scotty Stampp. First, the sex vid with him and Kid Rock appears, and now a chick claiming to be the star of “all the females in the video” is suing Stapp over said tape. Man, 2006 is turning out to be a big hit for Scott. No one wants to listen to his shitty album, but everyone wants to completely ruin the guy. As far as Kid Rock goes, he blames the whole debacle on Stapp as well. Rock on.
