A black cherry cake, no less. You’ll probably find this more entertaining than Andy Warhol eating a cheeseburger. I like both.

Cornershop can thank Lou Reed for that guitar tone and those three chords. “Brimful of Asha” for you.
The Arctic Monkeys don’t think they have much to say in regards to global warming. Other musicians are feeling the same way in regards to the Live Earth show. But I’d just like to pull one quote from the piece that I find important here:
And the singer from 80s pop sensations The Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant, attacked the arrogance of pop stars who put themselves forward as role-models.
“I’ve always been against the idea of rock stars lecturing people as if they know something the rest of us don’t,” he was reported as saying by British music magazine NME.

And now, a stirring music video with a message for all you sinners out there by Fred Phelps and his magic choir of ladies from the Westboro Baptist Church. God hates you. Just remember that.
Cocaine took David Bowie a lot of places in the ’70s. One such place was on Cher’s TV show at the time. This bizarro medley starts out with the then-current “Young Americans” and then freaks out completely, as if the coke was in control of the band. Hilarious, and somehow once again Bowie survives the disaster cleanly. Hell, the Young Americans album was his own calculated raping of plastic white soul, so appearing on Cher’s show was just another step to his next big thing.
