What I really need to do is find myself a brand new monkey

After enraging his UK Celebrity Big Brother housemates–not to mention PETA sympathizers everywhere–by claiming his coat was made from the fur of endangered gorillas, former Dead or Alive frontman Pete Burns has been proven wrong.

The coat is not made of endangered gorilla fur. The coat is made of colobus monkey fur…which has been illegal to import to Britain since 1975, so Pete’s coat was confiscated for analysis to determine its age (and Pete’s further legal ramifications, if any).

Well, turns out Pete won’t be moving from the Big Brother house to the Big House just yet: the Crown Prosecutors Service indicated that “judging by its poor condition…the pelts had likely been imported sometime in the 1930s or 1940s.”

Is anyone else grossed out by the idea of wearing 75-year-old dead monkey skins on their back?

I mean, I know vintage is the new black, and all, but, dude, seriously: Buy yourself a new coat. That’s just nasty.

A sunken ship aboard a sinking one

Oh, that Britney! She’s going back to her roots, you know. Yes, fans, Britney Spears will be on an upcoming episode of “Will and Grace.”She’ll be playing a conservative Christian talk show host. I haven’t watched that show since probably its second season and I never cared for Britney, so here’s one dude who won’t be tuning in. I am sure, however, that this will be the first step in many of Brit’s new career now that she has a kid. Wasn’t taking care of K-Fed enough to begin with? As a side note, I befriended K-Fed on MySpace, but after leaving a comment on his profile saying that “no one’s gonna buy yer rekkid,” he promptly dumped me. That dude has over 20,000 friends on there. Jesus, can you imagine having to make up that many phony accounts?

Didn’t Tortelvis already do this?

Perhaps you kids remember the great band Dread Zeppelin who mixed Zep covers up with a splash of reggae and fronted by the great Elvis impersonator Tortelvis. If not, go look them up, it’s a grand time, indeed (they’re still around, too). Boy howdy then that another group has decided to mine the Zeppelin gold. This time around it’s a group called Lez Zeppelin, and they’re ready to rock you all over. I say this is a crap idea. Not for any other reason than the fact that we don’t need another Zeppelin tribute group when Dread Zeppelin was the epitome of that niche already. Plus, Dread had the whole Elvis/reggae twist to the songs. This is just going to sound like another Zep cover band, and when it comes to those, I’ll just stick with the original item, thank you very much.

Fitting in with the kids at last

Michael Jackson is having a great time in Bahrain! He was recently spotted in a veil and robe, much like his kids are often dressed in. OK, well his kids are often dressed in mardi gras masks, but you get the point. Of course to go that extra Jackson mile, the getup is a style worn by Bahranian women, not dudes, so maybe that whole thing of getting caught in the ladies’ room and now this is just part of a master plan to finally become a clone of Joan Rivers.
