I am embarrassed to say that I am the senior editor of anything after taking the “I’m from Rolling Stone” music quiz. The highest score I could muster at any level was 69%. It was the hip hop questions that did me in. I think I missed every one of them.
I did laugh, though, when they asked a question about We Are Scientists’ album cover, which is my favorite album cover of all time. I reprint it here once again, for my amusement and to guarantee that no one gets a zero.
With interest in “The Apprentice” waning rapidly, and Trump making more and more of a nuisance of himself by the day, his reality-TV-host crown is ripe for the taking.
Starting this Sunday night on MTV, Jann Wenner will take a swipe at that crown with his own business-based reality show set in the offices of Rolling Stone magazine.
Cocky twentysomethings too big for their britches? Check. Glamorous, camera-friendly setting? Check. Opportunity for cameo appearances by people substantially more interesting than, say, the now-standard Donnie Deutsch appearance on “The Apprentice”? Check and mate.
And on top of all that, Jann has significantly better hair than The Donald, too. Just one more reason I feel compelled to check this thing out. It might still be another reality-TV train wreck…but I’m betting it will at least be an entertaining train wreck — with a damn good soundtrack, to boot.
“I’m From Rolling Stone” will debut on MTV at 10pm Eastern Sunday, January 7.
On the other hand, when he is interviewed for “real,” the results are just as hilarious, if maybe not a little more so. Listen to everything the guy says in this Q&A and then reabsorb everything that’s happened in the wake of his album release and you have something to laugh about for many days to come.
You gotta love “Weird Al.” You just gotta.
Remember how that bonehead Klytus died in this flick? That’s right…Flash threw him on those spikes and his eyes bugged out from behind his golden pask. Pure cocaine cinema, baby.
