Super Furry Animals: “The Horn”

Granted, after eight albums, I’m a little late to jump on the Super Furry Animals’ tiny bandwagon, but their new(est) disc, Love Kraft, is pretty damn good, and “The Horn” is the most accessible single of the bunch. “Psyclone!” and “Zoom” are the other big highlights, but the whole album, consisting of less SFA psychedelia and more pop, is pretty solid.

Check out some song clips here.

David Lee Roth gets southern on our asses

After seeing this bit on VH1’s Best Week Ever, I had to seek it out myself and share it with you all. Diamond Dave recently visited “The Tonight Show” to promote his new album Strummin’ With The Devil: The Southern Side of Van Halen (And why didn’t we get review copies of this?) and cranked out a redneck version of “Jump,” the video of which you can watch here. Thrill as Dave’s voice breaks! What won’t this guy do to earn a buck anymore? Are the royalties from the couple of hit albums he had and the VH days not paying enough anymore? Ah well. At least we can see that he sucks as much as the rest of the Van Hagar boys these days.

Charlotte Church hates Paris Hilton’s music

But it’s not like Church’s is that exciting, either. Still, the classically-trained singer who once wowed many Christmastime shoppers lashed out at Hilton’s new tunes.

“Paris is bloody awful. Honestly I heard a bit of it on the radio and it’s terrible.”

So says Church, who might just be acting like a snobby bitch herself, considering how much she flaunts her trained voice whenever possible in the press, and often pointing out how she’s the real deal and not some prefab crap when it comes to her recent switch to recording pop albums. The fact is there has been one Paris song so far that I’ve loved and zero from Church that I’ve cared for, so there you have it.
