Universal loves you

Perhaps complaining for long enough sometimes actually works. Universal Music is going to open up its vaults to release over 10,000 currently unavailable albums for downloading. Score one for the new and old school. I just can’t help but continue to complain here, however. As one of those in the “minority” of people who still enjoy collecting music, I’d much rather have an official CD of an album with all the booklet and all that jazz rather than just a CD-R with perhaps some artwork files to print out and put together. That’s just too damn much work. I’m not bitter. This could be fine and all. I just like actual product in my hands and on my shelf, so I can then rip it myself and have mp3s. Hmmm.

Look, Axl, fool me twenty-six times, shame on you…

…but, c’mon, this has gotten so old that it’s not even funny.

From RollingStone.com:

AXL ROSE BREAKS HIS SILENCE

GUNS N’ ROSES frontman AXL ROSE says that the band’s decade-in-the-making “Chinese Democracy” album is nearing completion. “People will hear music this year,” Rose told Rolling Stone at KORN’s tour announcement party in Hollywood on Friday night. “It’s a very complex record. I’m trying to do something different. Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen.” Rose said the band is working on thirty-two songs, twenty-six of which are finished. Of those, thirteen are slated for the final album. Among Rose’s favorites are “Better,” “There Was a Time” and “The Blues.” He also hinted that Gn’R may get back out on the road soon. “Every time there’s a big festival announced, we get rumored to be on there,” he says. “But we’ll see what happens.”
