Last night’s “American Idol” results show was less fluff than usual, more results…but two of the results were surprising, one bordering on shocking, at least to me. That can only mean that those idiots who purposely mess with the voting are at it again (you losers know who you are). Either that, or America is just ignorant.

So first they did some bit on Simon Cowell blatantly flashing the “L” for loser sign to either Ryan Seacrest or various others during the auditions. Whatever…we all know he’s a wiseass.

Then came the ’70s medley, which did one thing in particular…it exposed how bad some of these singers really are.

Okay, on to the results…first the guys. Michael Johns, safe. Chikezie, safe. Jason Castro, safe. That left Danny and Jason Yeager. We all knew what was coming, right? Yep, Jason got the boot, and totally deserved it. I felt like I knew what I was talking about.

Then the ladies. Kristy Lee, Brooke, Asia’h…all safe. That left Amanda and Alexandrea. I thought both of them would be kicked off this week, but I knew Alexandrea was much worse. So I saw this coming….she got the heave-ho. While she was singing out, David Archuleta was shown hiding, obviously bawling. So Alexandrea went up to him afterward and gave him a big hug. Awwwww.

After a few commercials, it was right back to business, and the ladies again. Carly, safe. Ramiel, safe. Uh-oh. Syesha, safe. Down to Alaina Whitaker and Kady Malloy. Mrs. Mike pointed out that they looked like sisters and they did. But Alaina is a much better singer, at least to me. So it was a huge surprise to me when she got cut, and even she was surprised, crying and saying she couldn’t sing. Ryan gave her the option to sing or not sing, and she was brave enough to do it. America totally messed this up. I really pegged her as Top 5, but like I say, what do I know?

Then after some fluff about having access to the Beatles’ catalog, and about the next “Idol Gives Back,” (April 9 if you didn’t catch Ryan saying it 12 times), it was back to the guys.

All the Davids were safe….and that was pretty much no surprise. That left Luke Menard and Robbie Carrico. I thought Robbie was pretty bad but I thought Luke was worse and I figured he’d be the first to go. However, either his “90210” looks got him in, or those idiots were at work corrupting the vote.
Either way, Robbie was not a high finalist, and Luke won’t be here much longer either.

So there you have it. Another week gone, and now there are only 16 contestants remaining. I still like David Archuleta to win it all, and I’m even thinking that for the first time ever, it could be an all-male Top 2. What do you think? Your comments are always welcome, and see you next week!
