In the wake of the April 16, 2007 tragedy on the campus of Virginia Tech, the Manhattan Hokies (NYC VT Alums), Webster Hall, The Village Pourhouse and Disco Sushi Entertainment have joined The David Wright Foundation to present Maroon Effect, a night to remember and honor the victims of that tragic day.

On Friday, May 18th, 2007 renowned New York City venue Webster Hall will host the event from 9pm-midnight, which will feature national musical acts, celebrity appearances, a VT merchandise store and an auction. Confirmed acts are The Season and Pat McGee. Webster Hall has graciously donated use of their venue at no cost.

100% of the funds raised at MaroonEffect.org will be donated to aid the healing process of those impacted by the tragedy and to honor the lives of those that were lost. The Manhattan Hokies created the Eternal Hokies Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial assistance to incoming Virginia Tech students from the Tri-State area.

Additionally, a donation to the Virginia Tech Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, which is run by Virginia Tech, will be made in the name of Manhattan Hokies and all who contributed. Proceeds will be used to cover expenses including but not limited to: assistance to victims and their families, grief counseling, memorials, communication expenses and comfort expenses.

Please visit www.marooneffect.org for more information or to purchase a ticket and/or make a donation.
